Maxine broadens horizons for entrepreneurs

A job in a bank, that's not dynamic enough and the people are boring. And what's the point, anyway? Is that what you think? What if you looked beyond these preconceptions and discovered our jobs through the eyes of our colleagues? Meet Maxine. She's a Horizon Expander. At least, that's how she sees herself.

You see yourself as a Horizon Expander, why?

Every day, I meet entrepreneurs from different fields. Generally, they come to me with a project in mind, looking for advice. During our discussion, I try to take a step back and look at their project from a longer-term perspective. And I identify opportunities that may not have been considered initially. I open new perspectives for them.

And how do you make a difference on a daily basis?

I'm the first point of contact for start-ups or more established entrepreneurs who rely on me to help them develop their business. And I really feel like I'm part of their team. Once I understand the direction they want to take, I bring together the specialists who will help them make a difference. It's a big responsibility, but it's also very rewarding to be part of their story.

What qualities do you think are important for this job?

I'd say, above all, a good sense of empathy and listening skills. And then, the ability to react quickly to find the right solutions. To do this, I can draw on the bank's network of specialists. It's super enriching to be able to work with all these people. I learn a lot of new things from them. This allows me to respond quickly to the challenges I need to manage.
