Digital education is the way forward

Developing sustainably and at a rapid pace: that could be the motto of entrepreneur Arne Vandendriessche. “Digitalisation in education has really taken off in recent years. Today, teachers no longer convey a uniform message to 25 students, but communicate digitally, adapting to each individual in the classroom. With Signpost, we want to facilitate this approach by providing the necessary tools for teachers and students.”

Becoming THE European reference platform for student software

Arne Vandendriessche has set Signpost on a path of bold investments by making well-considered choices and assigning a clear mission for his company. “It is based on four pillars: hardware, software, connectivity, and digital content. Even though we are growing rapidly, we want to remain specialists in our field. Therefore, we systematically reject any project outside the education sector. We want to grow geographically, but not sectorally. Thus, Signpost is expanding in France and Spain, and is now positioning itself as the leader in the Benelux region. Our software platform is currently used by 500,000 students. But since last year, we have been active in 12 new countries. Our ultimate goal is to become THE European platform for student software.”

Effective support for the peak season in September and October

To finance such development, you need a bank that is willing to continuously adapt, says Arne Vandendriessche. “Our relationship with BNP Paribas Fortis is crucial. The bank listens to our needs and is involved in our way of thinking. For example, we can offer leasing solutions to parents who do not want to buy equipment immediately. This way, we can maintain control over our cash flow and financing needs – which is important for every company.”
