Why am I getting a Wrong Card message on my card reader? What should I do?

There are several possible reasons:

  • The problem lies with the card reader. There may be dust in the card reader, which means the card is not recognised. Sometimes, simply blowing into the card reader and re-inserting the card is enough. If this doesn't work, you'll need to visit a branch to get a new card reader.
  • The chip on the card is no longer readable. You can still use your card in shops and ATMs, but not in your card reader. You'll need to replace your card for it to work again. You can easily replace your card in the Easy Banking App. Not using the app? Call the Easy Banking Centre.
