The Basic Banking Service Account is a type of current account that is available to all eligible consumers at a fixed, low cost, with a maximum fee set by law, and a limited range of services. This account is designed to help individuals manage their everyday finances, including receiving income and paying expenses. Any consumer residing legally in the European Union, or any consumer of Belgian nationality residing outside the European Union who has been deregistered from the Belgian population register for less than 10 years, is entitled to this minimum service, provided they meet certain requirements.
The monthly flat rate of €1.35 for our basic banking service (increasing to €1.60/month from 1 January 2025) includes the following:

The opening of a Basic Banking Service Account can only be done in a branch or at a post office, and is not dependent on the subscription to other services.
