Compensation made easier
If you’ve suffered material damage caused involuntarily and the person responsible for the damage is insolvent, your policy can pay you up to €15,000 in compensation.
Advance on compensation
If someone has been found responsible for a loss and the opposing insurer has validated the amount of compensation, but the payment is taking a long time, Providis can pay an advance of up to €20,000.
Free choice of lawyer
If you’re facing a dispute or proceedings against you and you need a lawyer to defend your interests, you can choose the lawyer yourself and their fees and expenses will be covered by your insurance policy.
High sums insured

What is Providis?
Providis is an independent department of AG. If you’re involved in a dispute covered by your AG legal expenses cover for businesses, its specialists will assist and advise you throughout the proceedings.
What is covered?
Your legal expenses cover for businesses protects you if you want to claim compensation for physical injury, material damage or consequential loss. For example, if someone suffers an injury, your goods are damaged or your store has to be closed.
What if I’m being sued?
Providis arranges for you to be defended in court for criminal matters following a claim covered by your operational liability insurance
- relating to a breach of criminal law
- relating to a case of involuntary homicide or injury
What costs are covered?
In addition to the assistance of a team of specialists, the legal expenses cover for businesses covers the cost of legal proceedings, expert witness fees and lawyers' fees.
To what types of liability insurance can I add legal expenses cover?
Legal expenses cover for businesses is the ideal add-on to your business liability, medical and allied health professional liability, construction liability and strict liability for fire and explosion insurance.
What types of civil proceedings are covered?
Your insurance covers extra-contractual claims, for example when a customer visiting your premises damages one of your machines. However, it does not cover disputes that are exclusively contractual, such as when you receive a defective product.
Scope of your cover
Main risks covered
criminal defence costs in the event of a claim covered by your operational liability insurance, relating to a breach of criminal law or relating to a case of involuntary homicide or injury
civil proceedings against a third party responsible for physical injury, material damage or consequential loss relating to goods, inventory, products or works not yet delivered or received. The proceedings must be based on extra-contractual liability
an amount of up to €15,000 in the event that the third party responsible is insolvent, as well as an advance of up to €20,000 on compensation receivable by you in the event of civil proceedings
The cover is valid in the countries where your operational liability cover is applicable.

disputes that are purely and exclusively contractual
compensation for fines handed down by and settlements with the public prosecutor's office
losses resulting from unfair competition or infringement of intellectual property rights such as business names, trademarks, trade names or service marks, licences, patents or copyrights
losses resulting directly or indirectly from financial transactions, breach of trust, fraud or deception, forgery, slander and defamation
