Secure payments, also online

With the Bancontact-Mastercard Debit card, you pay securely worldwide, also contactless and online:

  • For contactless payments, your PIN code is required for purchases over €50 and from €100 for consecutive payments.
  • When paying on a European webshop, you must identify yourself with your PIN code, card reader or fingerprint.
  • On non-European sites, you must enter your card number and the CVV code of your debit card.

Pay online with ease

Your debit card is accepted in an increasing number of webshops thanks to the 3-digit CVV code on the back. And that even if "Mastercard" is only mentioned under "credit cards" in the payment methods.

Pay with your banking app

With the "scan" function of your Easy Banking App, your payments are even easier. And this at a supplier and/or online... and always securely. Scan the QR code via your smartphone, confirm and it's settled!

Pay with a payment app

Easily add your debit card to Apple Pay, Google Pay, Fitbit Pay or Garmin Pay: simply add it directly in the app or scan the back of your card. You can then pay with your smartphone or connected watch.

Manage your card easily

(De)activate international, online or contactless payments, adjust your limits, block and replace your card... It's simple and quick via Easy Banking App and Easy Banking Web, on smartphone or PC. Changes are immediate.

How to activate your card?

To activate your Bancontact-Mastercard Debit card, simply use it to pay in a shop or withdraw cash from an ATM in Belgium. From then on, you can use your card for online and contactless payments.

Once you receive your new card, you have up to 6 weeks to activate it.

Protect your banking data

You can rely on BNP Paribas Fortis to secure your online banking as much as possible. But you are also part of the security of your banking data.

Tips to avoid fraud

  • Never share your PIN code with anyone and do not write it down anywhere.
  • Never lend your debit card and never send it by post.
  • Know that your bank will never ask for confidential information.
  • Never respond to suspicious emails or SMS.
  • Send any suspicious email to phishing@bnpparibasfortis.com.

Lost or stolen debit card? Call Card Stop

  • Call Card Stop on 078 170 170 (available 24/7) or via Easy Banking App via the "Communication" button to block your card.
  • Your card will be replaced automatically.
  • In case of theft, report it to the police within 24 hours.

Block or replace your debit card via Easy Banking App

Lost, stolen or defective debit card? Order a new one via your Easy Banking App, wherever and whenever you want.

  1. Log in to Easy Banking App.
  2. Click on "My services", then on "Cards" and select the debit card you want to replace.
  3. Click on "Block permanently or replace".
  4. Indicate whether the card is defective, lost or stolen, or if you suspect it has been used fraudulently*.
  5. Confirm the block, your address and that you want to replace the card.
  6. Choose and confirm the PIN code of your new card.

* A damaged card will not be blocked until you receive the new card. In case of fraud, block your card immediately via the app. And contact the Easy Banking Centre, which will investigate the fraudulent transactions and help you replace the card.
