It's an application of the principle of civil liability without fault. The victim can request and obtain full compensation for their damage without having to prove fault on your part.

Restaurants or cafes over 50m², sports halls, rest homes, shops over 1,000m²... These establishments are legally required to insure their objective liability in the event of a fire or explosion.

  • Your objective civil liability: In the event of a fire or explosion, your liability is automatically engaged, even without fault on your part.

  • Rescue costs, civil action costs, lawyers' fees, and experts' fees

  • Physical injury to victims, up to €23,105,725.44 indexed* per claim

  • Material damage to victims, up to approximately €1,155,286.27 indexed* per claim

Main risks not covered

  • Damage caused intentionally by you

  • Liability related to a serious fault on your part, and more specifically serious infringement of laws, regulations, and customs specific to your business activities

  • Material damage already covered by a tenant's, occupant's, or third-party liability insurance
