DAILY BANKING
You're at the bakery and you want to pay for your bread: why not pay with your smartphone or smart watch? It's simple, quick, contactless and secure. No need for your card or wallet. Find out more below about these mobile payment methods: their benefits, security, payment limits and more besides.
Most new debit and credit cards come with NFC technology, enabling contactless payment. Your customer puts their card beside your payment terminal, and it's paid. If the amount does not exceed €50, they do not need to enter their PIN code. It’s also the case when they make multiple purchases in a row for a total that does not exceed €100.
If these conditions are not met, they will need to prove it's really them. To do this, PSD2 has introduced strong customer authentication (or two-factor authentication).
Your customer can also pay you in a contactless way with their smartphone or connected watch: they bring it close to your payment terminal or scan a QR code, validate, and it's paid.
Apple Pay, Google Pay, Garmin Pay, Payconiq by Bancontact… Several apps enable them to pay you without their card. On your side, all you need is a terminal that offers them all these contactless payment methods. They just need to choose!
By card, with a smartphone, or a connected watch: offer your customers the possibility to choose their preferred payment method. Moreover, you benefit from faster and less risky management of your incoming payments.
A terminal adapted to your business
Receiving payments via the Payconiq by Bancontact app is super easy. Your customer selects your business in the app or scans your QR code. They then enter the amount to pay and confirm with their code or fingerprint.
With the Payconiq by Bancontact app, you can pay in certain stores, shop online, reimburse friends… Scan the QR code or select the business in the list, and it's done.
Paying and receiving money instantly via a QR code is now possible with Wero, via the Easy Banking App.
To pay with an iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, simply add your debit, Mastercard, or Visa card to Apple Pay. And that's it!
It's simple, fast and secure to pay with an Android smartphone. After downloading the app, register your card, confirm, and you're good to go!
No card or smartphone at hand? Garmin Pay lets you pay with your connected Garmin watch (equipped with an NFC chip).
